From the Desk of Director

B.P. Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, the first and the only cancer hospital of international standard in Nepal has successfully completed one decade of its service. Being the National Cancer Institute, it has the mission of Cancer Prevention & Research, Early Detection, Treatment and Palliative Care of Cancer Patients and development of much required human resources in the country.

Since Government of Nepal has declared health care as the fundamental right of every citizen, the hospital management faces the major challenge of moving ahead with this sentiment and of making available its services to each and every patient visiting to our centre. Since the treatment of cancer is very expensive much attention is being given to prevention and early detection of the disease.

BPKMCH strives to provide comprehensive and affordable cancer care under one roof through its state of the art and infrastructure with skilled human resource and modern technology. We are dedicated and determined to act as a model institution to alleviate the suffering of patients with cancer through the application of modern methods of curative and palliative therapy, education of the health care professionals and general public and research into the causes and treatment of cancer in our population.

We are equally sensitive and responsive to the needs of patients and their families. As a part of an ongoing modernization programme we are committed to education, continuous improvement in quality, infrastructural development of outreach programmes with collaborative efforts with centers of repute.

We believe in recruiting the right people, retaining them and contributing in their professional development for the better service of our patients.

Finally, the goal would be to make every effort in rendering the optimum care to all of our cancer patients so that they could either be cured or be able to live longer in comfort and dignity.
